Newsletter 27: 10 Things You Must Teach Your Kids now!
🧠✨To raise emotionally intense, kind, and confident humans 💛
Hi friends,
Parenting is more than providing food, safety, and bedtime routines. It’s about teaching the life tools our kids will carry into adulthood—in friendships, relationships, careers, and how they treat themselves.

Here are 10 powerful lessons you can start modelling and teaching today — not all at once, but gently and consistently, one conversation at a time.
1️. If you like someone, show them kindness.
💬 Express it — in words, in actions, in presence.
🫶 Don’t hide good feelings.
➡️ Example: If your child says they really like a friend at school, encourage them to write a note, draw a picture, or simply say, “You’re really fun to play with.” It builds connection and confidence.
2️. If something makes you uncomfortable, speak up.
🚫 Your feelings are valid.
🔒 Protect your peace.
➡️ Example: When a relative pushes for a hug and your child hesitates — back them up. Say, “We don’t have to hug if we’re not feeling it.” You’re teaching boundaries and body autonomy.
3️. If you need help, ask for it.
🤝 Strong people ask for support.
🧩 Nobody figures life out alone.
➡️ Example: Whether it’s math homework or an emotional meltdown, normalize asking for help by saying, “Even grown-ups ask for help. That’s how we learn.”
4️. It’s okay to make mistakes.
🛠 What matters is what you learn.
📈 Mistakes = growth.
➡️ Example: When they spill the milk or get a bad grade, don’t jump straight to discipline. Say, “That’s part of learning. What could we try next time?”
5️. Respect others’ boundaries — and protect your own.
🧍↔️🧍 Relationships thrive on mutual respect.
🛑 Saying ‘no’ is healthy.
➡️ Example: If your child takes a toy without asking, remind them to ask first. If they don’t want to share, show them how to say, “Not right now, but maybe later.”
6️. You don’t have to fit in.
💥 Be yourself, even if you're different.
🧡 Authenticity > Approval.
➡️ Example: If your child loves dinosaurs while their friends love superheroes, cheer them on. Celebrate their uniqueness and model acceptance.
7️. Say “sorry” when you hurt someone — and mean it.
❤️ A real apology heals.
🫂 No ego, just empathy.
➡️ Example: Help them say, “I’m sorry I hurt your feelings. I’ll try not to do that again.” Don’t force apologies — model them and explain why they matter.
8️. Stay curious — ask questions, explore.
🔍 Wonder leads to wisdom.
💡 Kids who ask why grow up to change the world.
➡️ Example: When your child bombards you with “why?” questions, lean in. Say, “Let’s figure it out together.” Be the kind of adult who doesn’t shut down curiosity.
9️. It’s okay to feel big emotions.
🌊 Just don’t let them drown you.
🧘♀️ Name it. Feel it. Release it.
➡️ Example: When they’re angry, help them say, “I’m really mad right now.” Then breathe together or take a break. Emotions aren’t the problem — suppression is.
10. Your voice matters.
🎤 Speak with kindness.
💪 Use it with courage and confidence.
➡️ Example: Encourage them to speak up when they see unfairness — in class, in friendships, even at home. Praise their honesty, not just obedience.
